Ten 4th year students attended the ‘Girls in STEM’ event in the RDS today to learn how interesting and fun STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) subjects can be.
The students attended the event with Guidance Counsellor Mary Dorgan and had the chance to try their hand at coding, take part in workshops and a ‘hackathon’ and hear from inspirational speakers from Ireland’s STEM sector.
The aim of the event, which was organised by Accenture and took place at locations in Dublin, London, Newcastle, Edinburgh and Manchester today, is to encourage more girls into STEM subjects and careers.
