‘Light Up A Life’ ceremony

‘Light Up A Life’ ceremony

Our 4th year students joined volunteers at our Lady’s Hospice, Harold’s Cross on Sunday 4 December for the annual ‘Light Up A Life’ ceremony.

Students were selling candles for the ‘Light Up A Life’ service, which took place at 5pm.

The evening was hosted by Ian Dempsey, who was joined on stage by The Palestrina Girls’ Choir and the CIE Male Voice Choir. Special guest Christy Moore sang Fairy Tale of New York, and then switched on the lights on what is thought to be the largest Christmas tree in Dublin. The thousands of people who had purchased a candle to remember a loved one then placed them under the tree, beside the thousand or so candles already there.

We were proud to be a part of such a special evening of refection and celebration for all those present.
