On April 6th DIT Kevin Street was home to SciFest, a nationwide programme that aims to encourage a love of science amongst second level students.
As reported back in March, our students had been beavering away for months in preparation for the event. They’d been busy calculating results from a variety of bio domes, weighing up the benefits of growing aloe vera, and even trying out new diets for a study of vegan nutrition.
Their efforts didn’t go unnoticed by the SciFest judges, with two groups receiving special commendations for their projects.
A big congratulations to Kim Ryan, Daisy Ryan, Emma Hanrahan, George O’Connor, and Yewande Adeyale for all your hard work. It’s a super result for the school’s first entries, and we’ll certainly be back next year with new and innovative projects.
