The Institute of Education is delighted to be a Silver Sponsor of this year’s CoderDoJo Coolest Projects Awards taking place on Saturday, June 13th in the RDS.
Expected to be the biggest youth technology event Ireland has ever seen, Coolest Projects offers young coders the chance to submit projects using their creativity and skills with computer languages and hardware to build cool apps, games, websites and robots.
This year’s awards will see over 500 projects, demoed by a combination of teams and individuals aged 7 to 17 who attend CoderDoJos around the world.
“Coderdojo is a fun and interactive way of teaching technology to young people. The confidence that they get from creating their ideas, and presenting and sharing their projects at the event is fantastic”, said Peter Kearns, Director of The Institute of Education. “The fact that this year’s Coolest Projects Awards is set to be twice the size it was last year shows the true potential of the CoderDoJo movement. It’s a true celebration of creativity and innovation and the Institute is really looking forward to seeing all the exciting projects submitted for this year’s awards. We wish all the participants the very best of luck!”
