Yvonne O’Toole: 5th Year Principal

Yvonne O’Toole graduated from UCD with a BA in Irish and English and after completing a Higher Diploma in Education she studied Religious Education and Radio Journalism before graduation from DCU in 2004 with an MSc in Educational Management. Yvonne has been teaching for 32 years and is the co-author of numerous Junior and Leaving Certificate textbooks.

With 25 subjects to choose from, 5th year students at The Institute of Education can create their own timetable. Students can also change or take up a new subject at certain times under the supervision of a guidance counsellor.

Students cover 70% of the subject content in their 5th year lessons, with regular testing and continuous assessment in all subjects.

Students have access to a range of extra-curricular activities and are also provided with constant academic mentoring, study skills seminars, and career guidance, providing them with an invaluable foundation for 6th year.

Each year we produce a yearbook looking back on the events, activities and achievements of our students throughout the year. View the 2018/2019 Yearbook here>>
