SciFest 2017 Special Commendations

SciFest 2017 Special Commendations

SciFest 2017 winners

On April 6th DIT Kevin Street was home to SciFest, a nationwide programme that aims to encourage a love of science amongst second-level students.

As reported back in March, our students had been beavering away for months in preparation for the event. They’d been busy calculating results from a variety of bio domes, weighing up the benefits of growing aloe vera, and even trying out new diets for a study of vegan nutrition.

Their efforts didn’t go unnoticed by the SciFest judges, with two groups receiving special commendations for their projects.

A big congratulations to Kim Ryan, Daisy Ryan, Emma Hanrahan, George O’Connor, and Yewande Adeyale for all your hard work. It’s a super result for the school’s first entries, and we’ll certainly be back next year with new and innovative projects.
