Our 4th year students took their learning outside the classroom yesterday, when they took part in a scientific study investigating the accuracy of Fitbit technology.
15 students took part in the study, which is forming part of a SciFest project currently being worked on by a group of students in 4th year.
The Fitbits were assessed for accuracy in terms of measuring step count, distance and heart rate during walking and jogging and the results are currently being analysed by the SciFest team.
SciFest is a national science fair that aims to inspire secondary students to explore and study science, technology, maths and engineering (STEM). The event will take place on Thursday 2 May in IT Tallaght and we wish the team all the very best in the competition!
