STEM Conference 2018

STEM

A group of our 4th year students visited the RDS today to learn more about the career opportunities that are available to women in the fields of science, technology, engineering and maths.

The I WISH Conference 2018 is an initiative to inspire, encourage and motivate young female students to pursue careers in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math).

The morning session was filled with addresses by a number of inspiring people including the Mayor of South Dublin and Karen Egan from VM Ware. It also featured a panel discussion between women working in Accenture, Arup, Atlantic Bridge Ventures and the International Space University in varying STEM roles.

Our students then visited the ‘I Wish Exhibition Area’, where they got to engage first-hand with STEM industry exhibitors such as various third level universities offering career paths, as well as companies such as Symantex, Dell EMC and Johnson & Johnson.
