Economics (H): One of the most student friendly papers in years
Reaction to Leaving Certificate 2018 Economics (Higher Level) by Ray O’Loughlin, Economics teacher at The Institute of Education.
One of the nicest, most student friendly economics papers in years. A very fair examination of the syllabus. There was an equal split of micro and macro topics, which students will have liked.
Section A: Short Questions
All questions were very straight forward.
The micro topics were all very student friendly topics like equilibrium, oligopoly, costs and elasticity.
The macro questions were also very doable, with topics like the multiplier, budgetary policy and assessing the performance of the economy. These would all have been topics students would have prepared for.
Surprisingly the topic of Brexit did not appear on the paper.
