Irish Paper 2 (O): A fair paper overall, with one or two challenging areas

2016Irish_P2_Ordinary

Comment/ analysis on Irish Paper 2 (Ordinary Level) from Clare Grealy, Irish teacher at The Institute of Education.

Overall a fair paper, but there were certain areas that might have caused some difficulties for students.

In the poetry section, the poem was An Spailpin Fanach. Many students would have had difficulty in one of the two mark questions, as the word uirlis (working tool) appeared, which many may not have understood.

One of the prose stories that featured was Dis, and this is widely considered to be one of the most difficult pieces. The questions asked however were straight forward.
