This year’s Model United Nations kicked off with great excitement at the end of September, with our students taking part in the Terenure College MUN. This is the first event of the Institute’s MUN calendar and is always enjoyed by delegates, both new and experienced.
This year the Institute had an impressive 5 delegations at the event: Angola, Denmark, Nigeria, South Korea and Israel. Such a diverse range of countries gave the students great scope to explore different topics and backgrounds. In each committee there were heated debates as students strove to pass resolutions on topics ranging from gun control to ethnic cleansing, and crypto currencies.
A special congratulations to 6th year students Fay Martin and Megan Punzet and 5th year student Chloe Holmes who won Distinguished Delegate Awards for their outstanding contributions to their committees’ debates.
The next MUN coming up is RADMUN in November.
